Use Grej with Claude and other AI assistants
Grej has an MCP server, so you can connect your own AI assistant to your Grej registry: your things, their paperwork, everything that has happened to them, and the work going on now. The assistant does the reasoning; Grej keeps the record.
The connector works with Claude and with any other assistant that supports remote MCP servers with OAuth sign-in.
Connect Grej once
Add Grej as a connector in your AI app and sign in to Grej. The steps are under Connect below.
Sign in where your papers are
You sign in yourself, in your AI app: connect your email, and sign in to your loyalty programs and your insurer in the browser your AI works in, such as Chrome with Claude in Chrome. Your AI fetches the papers from there and hands them to Grej. Grej never sees those logins.
Ask in plain words
For example:
Find the receipts, policies and manuals for my things and add them to Grej.
It files, and asks when unsure
Your AI reads each paper and files it on the right thing: the heat pump, the car, the boat engine. A missing manual it looks for on the manufacturer's site. If it can't tell which thing a paper is for, it asks you.

What you need
- A Grej account. You sign in to the connector with the same Google or Apple account you use in the Grej app. It is available on every Grej plan.
- An AI assistant that can add a remote MCP server, such as Claude (on the web, desktop or mobile) or Claude Code.
Connect
Claude (web, desktop and mobile)
- In Claude, open Settings → Connectors.
- Find Grej in the directory and select Connect. If it is not listed in your Claude yet,
choose Add custom connector, name it
Grejand pastehttps://mcp.grej.app/mcp. - A Grej sign-in page opens. Choose Sign in with Google or Sign in with Apple and use the account you use in Grej.
- Back in Claude, Grej shows as connected. Turn it on in a conversation from the connectors menu.
Claude Code
claude mcp add --transport http grej https://mcp.grej.app/mcp
Then run /mcp in Claude Code and pick grej to sign in.
Other assistants
Add https://mcp.grej.app/mcp as a remote MCP server (Streamable HTTP). The assistant finds the
sign-in page itself through the standard OAuth discovery documents.
What the assistant can do
The connector gives the assistant the same building blocks the Grej app works with:
- Things. List, look up, add, edit and organise the things you own, including what is part of what, such as a house, its rooms and the appliances in them.
- Timeline. Read and record what has happened: purchases, services, repairs, problems and notes, with their costs and who did the work.
- Documents. Find receipts, invoices, manuals, warranties and photos, and file new ones.
- Cases. Group several events into one undertaking, like a repair or a warranty claim, and see its money and outcome in one place.
- Condition. See why a thing needs attention. Condition is worked out from open cases and standing signals; it is never set directly.
- Lists. Create checklists, routines and procedures, and work through them.
- Review. Go through the suggestions Grej has made from your documents and confirm, edit or discard them.
Filing a new file needs an assistant that can upload it over HTTPS, such as Claude Code or Claude with code execution turned on. The assistant tells you if it cannot.
Example prompts
- "Find the receipts, policies and manuals for my things and add them to Grej."
- "What needs my attention across my things right now? List open cases and anything flagged."
- "When was the boat's engine last serviced, who did it, and what did it cost?"
- "Add the new dishwasher to the kitchen and record the purchase: 649 €, bought today."
- "Make a checklist for closing the summer cottage for winter, then start it for this year."
- "Sum up what I spent on repairs last year, per thing, and point out the most expensive one."
- "Go through the suggestions Grej has waiting for review and tell me which ones look wrong."
Permissions and safety
Every tool tells your assistant whether it only reads, only adds something new, or changes or removes something already in Grej. Claude asks for your confirmation before any tool that changes or removes data. Reading tools can run without asking, depending on your assistant's settings.
The assistant only reaches what your Grej account can reach, and it acts as you.
Your data
- The connector sends your Grej data to the assistant you connected, only when the assistant calls a tool. What that assistant does with it is covered by its own terms and privacy policy.
- Grej does not receive your conversations. The assistant sends only the tool arguments it chooses, such as a search or the fields of a new entry.
- Grej runs no AI of its own through the connector. All reasoning happens in your assistant.
- Grej stores the sign-in tokens for the connection so you stay signed in.
- The Privacy Policy covers everything Grej stores about you.
Disconnect
- In Claude: open Settings → Connectors, choose Grej and select Disconnect.
- In Claude Code: run
claude mcp remove grej.
Disconnecting removes the assistant's access. Your data in Grej stays as it is.
