Grej — Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Grej application and services (the "Service"). They should be read together with our Privacy Policy and Acceptable Use Policy. Please read them before using the Service.

1. Acceptance and parties

These Terms form a binding agreement between Humeko Oy, business ID 2081131-0 (VAT FI20811310), Matbackantie 8, 04130 Sipoo, Finland, which operates the Grej service ("Grej", "we", "us"), and the person using the Service ("you", "User"). By creating an account or using the Service you accept these Terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the Service.

2. Early Access — what this release is

2.1 Grej is in an early stage of development and is provided as Early Access / beta. Features may be incomplete, may change, may be suspended, or may be withdrawn or discontinued at any time, and the Service may be unavailable or interrupted without notice.

2.2 No guaranteed availability, retention or backup. You should not rely on the Service for any critical purpose and should keep your own copies of anything important. To the extent permitted by law, we do not guarantee that your data will be preserved, and Early Access data may be reset as the product evolves.

2.3 Early Access is not free of charge. Early Access describes the maturity of the Service, not its price. The Service has both a free plan and paid subscription plans; §3 governs payment.

3. Plans, subscriptions and payment

3.1 Free and paid plans. The Service has a free plan and one or more paid subscription plans. What each plan includes, and what it costs, is shown before you buy. Plan allowances are described in §7. A plan applies to your account, not to a device or a store: once a plan is active you have it wherever you sign in to Grej.

3.2 Who you buy from. A paid plan is sold in one of two ways, and which one applies is shown at checkout:

  • Through an app store. Where you buy inside the Grej app on a mobile device, the purchase is a transaction with the app store you installed Grej from (Apple's App Store or Google Play). That store is the seller, handles payment, and its own terms apply to the purchase alongside these Terms.
  • Directly from us. Where you buy from Grej on the web, Humeko Oy is the seller. Payment is handled on our behalf by a third-party payment processor. We never receive or store your full card details; the processor does. Our current processors are listed in the Sub-processors page linked from our Privacy Policy.

3.3 Prices and tax. Prices are shown in your local currency and include VAT or equivalent sales tax where applicable. For an app-store purchase the store collects and remits that tax; for a direct purchase we do.

3.4 Automatic renewal. A subscription renews automatically for the same period, at the then-current price, unless it is cancelled before the current period ends. You cancel an app-store subscription in that store's account settings — not in Grej, and not by contacting us. You cancel a subscription bought directly from us in your Grej account settings, or by writing to support@grej.app. In either case cancelling stops the next renewal and nothing more: your paid plan continues until the end of the period you have already paid for.

3.5 Price changes. We may change prices. A change takes effect only at a renewal, never mid-period, and you will be notified in advance — through the app store for an app-store subscription, and by email for one bought directly from us. Where the store or mandatory law requires your consent to an increase, the subscription will not renew at the new price without it. You may cancel at any time before a change takes effect.

3.6 Refunds. For an app-store purchase, refunds are handled by that store under its own policy, so a refund request goes to the store and not to us. For a purchase made directly from us, write to support@grej.app.

3.7 Right of withdrawal (EU/EEA consumers). Where you buy directly from us, you normally have 14 days to withdraw from the purchase. Because a subscription gives you immediate access, we ask you to confirm at checkout that you want performance to begin at once and that you acknowledge losing the right of withdrawal once the subscription has been fully performed. Where you buy through an app store, the store is the seller and you exercise the right through it. Nothing in these Terms limits your non-excludable rights as a consumer.

3.8 Failed payment. If a renewal payment fails, we or the store may retry it. If it is not settled, the paid plan ends and your account returns to the free plan under §3.9.

3.9 When a subscription ends. If your subscription ends, lapses or is refunded, your account returns to the free plan. Everything you have already put into Grej stays in your account, stays readable, and stays exportable. If you are above a free-plan allowance, you cannot add more of that kind until you are back under it or subscribe again. We do not delete your content because a subscription ended.

3.10 The free plan. The free plan requires no payment. It carries smaller allowances (§7), and we may change those allowances under §16.

4. Definitions

  • Service — the Grej mobile and web applications and related features and back-end services.
  • Digital Twin — the structured record Grej maintains for a physical asset.
  • User Content — anything you upload or submit: photos, videos, documents (including manuals, receipts, warranties), text, and data.
  • AI Features — assistant, extraction, procedures/playbooks and other machine-generated outputs.
  • Plan — the free or paid subscription tier an account is on (§3).
  • AI Credits — the monthly per-account allowance that AI Features draw on, described in §7.
  • Voucher Code — a code we may issue that adds AI Credits to an account (§7).

5. Eligibility and accounts

5.1 Minimum age. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. This is the age of digital consent in our launch markets, Sweden and Finland.

5.2 Users aged 13–17. If you are under 18, you may use the Service only with the involvement of a parent or guardian, who is responsible for your use of it. Because minors have limited legal capacity, some provisions of these Terms may be enforceable only against the responsible adult.

5.3 Accounts. You are responsible for the security of your credentials and for activity under your account. Provide accurate information and keep it current.

6. Your Content and intellectual property

6.1 You keep your rights. You retain all ownership of your User Content. These Terms grant Grej no ownership of it.

6.2 Licence to operate the Service. You grant Grej a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, process, adapt and display your User Content solely to provide the Service to you and to those you authorise (household/Family members and invited collaborators).

6.3 No cross-user sharing of your uploads. Except as you explicitly direct, your uploaded documents and the knowledge Grej derives from them are scoped to your account and your shared assets. Grej does not make your uploaded third-party materials available to other, unrelated users.

6.4 No foundation-model training on your Content. Grej does not use your User Content to train general-purpose/foundation AI models. AI processing is performed to deliver the Service to you; see the Privacy Policy for sub-processors.

7. Plan allowances and Voucher Codes

7.1 Plan allowances. Each plan carries allowances: how many things you may register, how many documents you may file, and a monthly allowance of AI Credits that AI Features draw on. Credits reset at the start of each calendar month and do not carry over. When an allowance is used up, that part of the Service pauses — AI Features until the credits reset, and new registrations or filings until you are back under the cap or move to a plan with a larger one. The rest of the app remains available, and everything already in your account stays readable and exportable. The allowances in force are shown in the app.

7.2 Contact and Voucher Codes. When you reach an allowance, we invite you to contact support@grej.app to tell us about your use cases and needs. At our sole discretion we may issue a Voucher Code that adds AI Credits to your account. Voucher Codes are personal, non-transferable, may be time-limited, carry no cash value, and may be revoked if misused.

7.3 Fair use and protection of the Service. We may apply overall usage safeguards (including a global cap) and may throttle, suspend or limit AI Features to protect the Service, its cost base and other users. We may change plan allowances under §16. Circumventing quotas or usage controls is prohibited (§10).

8. AI Features — important limitations

8.1 AI Features generate information to assist you. They may be incomplete, inaccurate, or outdated, and are not professional, legal, medical, engineering, financial or safety advice.

8.2 You remain responsible for how you operate, maintain and repair your assets. For any safety-critical, regulated or professional task, follow the manufacturer's official documentation and consult a qualified professional. Do not rely solely on AI output, and never act on AI guidance where doing so could cause injury or damage without independent verification.

8.3 AI-generated content is labelled as such where required. You must not represent AI output as professional certification or advice.

9. Content warranties and responsibilities

9.1 You warrant you have the rights. You represent and warrant that you own or have all necessary rights to upload your User Content and to grant the licence in §6, and that your Content does not infringe any third party's intellectual property, privacy or other rights.

9.2 Third-party manuals and materials. Product manuals and service documentation are often copyrighted by their manufacturer. You are responsible for ensuring your upload and use of such materials is permitted (e.g. for your own asset). Do not upload materials you are not entitled to use.

9.3 Prohibited content. You must not upload content that is unlawful, infringing, or malicious. See the Acceptable Use Policy.

9.4 Indemnity. To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold Grej harmless from claims, damages and costs arising from your User Content or your breach of these Terms.

10. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the Service, including: uploading infringing or unlawful content; attempting to access other users' data; automated scraping; circumventing quotas, Voucher Codes or security; using the Service to build a competing dataset or model; or any use that violates applicable law.

11. Copyright complaints and takedown

Grej operates a notice-and-action process. Rights holders may submit a takedown notice to copyright@grej.app with the information required by applicable law. Grej will act on valid notices, may remove or disable access to reported material, and operates a repeat-infringer policy under which accounts may be suspended or terminated, consistent with applicable safe-harbour rules (EU Digital Services Act notice-and-action).

12. Privacy and data protection

Grej processes personal data as described in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms. Because our launch markets include minors from age 13, we apply data minimisation and privacy-by- default and do not use personal data for profiling or behavioural advertising. See the Privacy Policy for lawful bases, sub-processors (including our AI provider) and your rights.

13. Disclaimers — provided "as is"

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service and the AI Features are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, reliability, availability, or non-infringement. Given the Early Access nature of the Service (§2), you use it at your own risk. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits rights that cannot be excluded or limited under mandatory consumer-protection law applicable to you.

14. Limitation of liability

14.1 To the maximum extent permitted by law, Grej is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for loss of data, profit, goodwill or business, arising from or related to your use of (or inability to use) the Service or reliance on AI output.

14.2 To the maximum extent permitted by law, Grej's total aggregate liability to you is limited to the amount you have paid for the Service in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, except where a higher amount is required by mandatory law.

14.3 These limitations do not apply to liability that cannot be limited under mandatory law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for gross negligence or wilful misconduct, or for a consumer's non-excludable statutory rights.

15. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time (in-app account deletion is provided). Grej may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms, for repeat infringement, or to protect the Service. On termination your licence ends; data handling on deletion is described in the Privacy Policy.

16. Changes to the Service and to these Terms

16.1 Consistent with §2, we may modify, suspend or discontinue any part of the Service at any time.

16.2 We may update these Terms. Material changes will be notified in advance where required, and re-acceptance may be requested in-app. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

17. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Finland, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer- protection law of your country of residence (including Sweden), which continues to apply. Disputes are subject to the competent courts of Finland, subject to any consumer's right to bring proceedings in their home jurisdiction. EU consumers may also use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform. A Finnish consumer may refer a dispute to the Consumer Disputes Board (kuluttajariitalautakunta); a Swedish consumer to the National Board for Consumer Disputes (ARN).
