Grej — Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Grej application and services (the "Service"). They should be read together with our Privacy Policy and Acceptable Use Policy. Please read them before using the Service.

1. Acceptance and parties

These Terms form a binding agreement between Humeko Oy, business ID 2081131-0 (VAT FI20811310), Matbackantie 8, 04130 Sipoo, Finland, which operates the Grej service ("Grej", "we", "us"), and the person using the Service ("you", "User"). By creating an account or using the Service you accept these Terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the Service.

2. Early Access — what this release is

2.1 Grej is in an early stage of development and is provided as a free Early Access / beta. Features may be incomplete, may change, may be suspended, or may be withdrawn or discontinued at any time, and the Service may be unavailable or interrupted without notice.

2.2 No guaranteed availability, retention or backup. You should not rely on the Service for any critical purpose and should keep your own copies of anything important. To the extent permitted by law, we do not guarantee that your data will be preserved, and Early Access data may be reset as the product evolves.

2.3 No payment during Early Access. The Service is currently provided free of charge. There are no paid plans, and we do not process payments for it. We may introduce paid plans in the future; if we do, we will give notice and paid terms will apply from then on, not retroactively.

3. Definitions

  • Service — the Grej mobile application and related features and back-end services.
  • Digital Twin — the structured record Grej maintains for a physical asset.
  • User Content — anything you upload or submit: photos, videos, documents (including manuals, receipts, warranties), text, and data.
  • AI Features — assistant, extraction, procedures/playbooks and other machine-generated outputs.
  • Daily AI Limit — the per-account cap on AI usage described in §6.
  • Voucher Code — a code we may issue that adjusts your Daily AI Limit (§6).

4. Eligibility and accounts

4.1 Minimum age. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. This is the age of digital consent in our launch markets, Sweden and Finland.

4.2 Users aged 13–17. If you are under 18, you may use the Service only with the involvement of a parent or guardian, who is responsible for your use of it. Because minors have limited legal capacity, some provisions of these Terms may be enforceable only against the responsible adult.

4.3 Accounts. You are responsible for the security of your credentials and for activity under your account. Provide accurate information and keep it current.

5. Your Content and intellectual property

5.1 You keep your rights. You retain all ownership of your User Content. These Terms grant Grej no ownership of it.

5.2 Licence to operate the Service. You grant Grej a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, process, adapt and display your User Content solely to provide the Service to you and to those you authorise (household/Family members and invited collaborators).

5.3 No cross-user sharing of your uploads. Except as you explicitly direct, your uploaded documents and the knowledge Grej derives from them are scoped to your account and your shared assets. Grej does not make your uploaded third-party materials available to other, unrelated users.

5.4 No foundation-model training on your Content. Grej does not use your User Content to train general-purpose/foundation AI models. AI processing is performed to deliver the Service to you; see the Privacy Policy for sub-processors.

6. AI usage limits and Voucher Codes

6.1 Daily AI Limit. To keep Early Access sustainable, AI usage is subject to a daily per-account limit. When you reach the limit, AI Features are paused until the limit resets; the rest of the app remains available. We may adjust the limit at any time.

6.2 Contact and Voucher Codes. When you reach the limit, we invite you to contact support@grej.app to tell us about your use cases and needs. At our sole discretion we may issue a Voucher Code that raises your Daily AI Limit. Voucher Codes are personal, non-transferable, may be time-limited, carry no cash value, and may be revoked if misused.

6.3 Fair use and protection of the Service. We may apply overall usage safeguards (including a global cap) and may throttle, suspend or limit AI Features to protect the Service, its cost base and other users. Circumventing quotas or usage controls is prohibited (§9).

7. AI Features — important limitations

7.1 AI Features generate information to assist you. They may be incomplete, inaccurate, or outdated, and are not professional, legal, medical, engineering, financial or safety advice.

7.2 You remain responsible for how you operate, maintain and repair your assets. For any safety-critical, regulated or professional task, follow the manufacturer's official documentation and consult a qualified professional. Do not rely solely on AI output, and never act on AI guidance where doing so could cause injury or damage without independent verification.

7.3 AI-generated content is labelled as such where required. You must not represent AI output as professional certification or advice.

8. Content warranties and responsibilities

8.1 You warrant you have the rights. You represent and warrant that you own or have all necessary rights to upload your User Content and to grant the licence in §5, and that your Content does not infringe any third party's intellectual property, privacy or other rights.

8.2 Third-party manuals and materials. Product manuals and service documentation are often copyrighted by their manufacturer. You are responsible for ensuring your upload and use of such materials is permitted (e.g. for your own asset). Do not upload materials you are not entitled to use.

8.3 Prohibited content. You must not upload content that is unlawful, infringing, or malicious. See the Acceptable Use Policy.

8.4 Indemnity. To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold Grej harmless from claims, damages and costs arising from your User Content or your breach of these Terms.

9. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the Service, including: uploading infringing or unlawful content; attempting to access other users' data; automated scraping; circumventing quotas, Voucher Codes or security; using the Service to build a competing dataset or model; or any use that violates applicable law.

10. Copyright complaints and takedown

Grej operates a notice-and-action process. Rights holders may submit a takedown notice to copyright@grej.app with the information required by applicable law. Grej will act on valid notices, may remove or disable access to reported material, and operates a repeat-infringer policy under which accounts may be suspended or terminated, consistent with applicable safe-harbour rules (EU Digital Services Act notice-and-action).

11. Privacy and data protection

Grej processes personal data as described in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms. Because our launch markets include minors from age 13, we apply data minimisation and privacy-by- default and do not use personal data for profiling or behavioural advertising. See the Privacy Policy for lawful bases, sub-processors (including our AI provider) and your rights.

12. Disclaimers — provided "as is"

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service and the AI Features are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, reliability, availability, or non-infringement. Given the Early Access nature of the Service (§2), you use it at your own risk. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits rights that cannot be excluded or limited under mandatory consumer-protection law applicable to you.

13. Limitation of liability

13.1 To the maximum extent permitted by law, Grej is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for loss of data, profit, goodwill or business, arising from or related to your use of (or inability to use) the Service or reliance on AI output.

13.2 Because the Service is currently provided free of charge, and to the maximum extent permitted by law, Grej's total aggregate liability to you is limited to the amount you have paid for the Service (which, during Early Access, is zero), except where a higher amount is required by mandatory law.

13.3 These limitations do not apply to liability that cannot be limited under mandatory law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for gross negligence or wilful misconduct, or for a consumer's non-excludable statutory rights.

14. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time (in-app account deletion is provided). Grej may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms, for repeat infringement, or to protect the Service. On termination your licence ends; data handling on deletion is described in the Privacy Policy.

15. Changes to the Service and to these Terms

15.1 Consistent with §2, we may modify, suspend or discontinue any part of the Service at any time.

15.2 We may update these Terms. Material changes will be notified in advance where required, and re-acceptance may be requested in-app. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

16. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Finland, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer- protection law of your country of residence (including Sweden), which continues to apply. Disputes are subject to the competent courts of Finland, subject to any consumer's right to bring proceedings in their home jurisdiction. EU consumers may also use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform. A Finnish consumer may refer a dispute to the Consumer Disputes Board (kuluttajariitalautakunta); a Swedish consumer to the National Board for Consumer Disputes (ARN).
